2 x 2 x 2 Last Layer Algorithms (Fridrich Method)
I found this old gif I made from my old site and I thought it would be useful for future solvers that currently use or would use this method for solving the 2 x 2 x 2 Rubik’s Cube (or Pocket Cube in some areas of the world).
There’s a lot of MUCH MUCH faster methods in solving this minuscule puzzle such as the Ortega Method, but keep at it and use it as a stepping stone before progressing towards the more advanced methods. My unofficial PR (with a speedstacks speed timer) using this method is 2.23 secs.
The current world record is a three-way tie between Erik Akkerdjik, Rowe Hessler, and Vincent Sheu at 0.96 seconds.
